Why Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement. These Chinese words translate literally to “wind-water.”

The goal of Feng Shui is to realize harmony, peace, health and balance. It is a process that begins with your intentions, leading to the wise, conscious use of metaphor in your physical home and office, your environment. This leads to elevation and acceleration of manifesting harmony, peace, health, balance and prosperity in your life.

Feng Shui is much more than moving your stuff. Used in choosing the best directions, land forms and home layout as well as decorating, feng shui is best used when it begins with an in-depth look at how the client wishes to both express and attract what is most valued. That’s what inspired Rhoberta Shaler, PhD, to combine her expertise and wisdom to create Whole Life Feng Shui™.

Trained as a psychologist, Dr. Shaler leads her clients—whether a company, an organization,  an individual, couple or family—to take that in-depth look into who they are, what they value, their beliefs, purpose and mission and use that as a foundation for creating an environment that will attract the relationships, conditions and circumstances for realizing their vision.  Her unique process includes questionnaires and consultations to refine changes that will express the precise results desired.

“It is a dynamic, interactive process, though, and certainly not a one-shot fix-all,” she says, “A client must realize this and be willing to invest the time and energy required to realize the result. The good news is that, in most cases, some things begin to change quickly. The process is dynamic and ongoing.”

It is so easy in this technological, global age to lose awareness of ourselves as part of nature. The use of the five elements in balancing, igniting or reducing the energy of a space relates directly to those internal energies we may have lost sight of. Our society urges us to “be on fire” which may lead us to neglect the balancing of the flow, the essence of water, in our lives. When out of balance, fire leads to fire which inevitably gets out of control. That’s what too much ambition can turn into. Or, too much moving forward without doing the tasks and creating the systems to maintain the momentum. Dr. Shaler consults to leaders and their teams to optimize relationships and results, in addition to her Whole Life Feng Shui™ offerings.  She observes,

“When we get caught up in our vision, we can lose sight of the day-to-day that sustains us. Think of yourself walking down the street: if you are always leaning forward to get where you’re going as quickly as you can, you cannot stop. Your feet are not underneath you and you’ll fall on your face.  The same is true in our personal lives, our relationships and our workplace interactions. Doing Whole Life Feng Shui consultations and alignments, it is essential to look at both the desired outcomes and the desirable balance that allows for forward motion.  That includes what we need to do to establish inner peace, peace at home and peace at work, as well.”
